Hana Pera Aoake is an artist and writer based in Te Whanganui-a-Tara, Aotearoa who primarily works within the Fresh and Fruity collective. Hana makes work which explores digitality, social class, mental illness, sex work, colonisation, aliens, cyborgs, and humour. Although jaded and in hiding Hana enjoys taking screenshots and researching ancient alien ‘documentaries’, hammerhead sharks and cyborgs like Kim Kardashian. Netflix ‘n’ by yourself.
Lila Bullen-Smith is a young artist living and working in Auckland, New Zealand. She is currently is in her honours year at Elam School of Fine Arts. Working within the realms of feminism and body politics, her work explores how bodies are formed/performed under pharmacopornographic biocapitalism. Using an illusive material language that combines multiple artistic disciplines, her work investigates technomaterialist feminism and female (dis)embodiment to ultimately create sites of body design.
